Peter Miller, President of PMA Literary & Film Management, Inc., announces the sale of North American Rights to The Afternoon America Was A-Bombed by Clyde Burleson, to Michele Martin, Publishing Director at Thunder's Mouth Press, in a nice deal. PMA manages the Foreign and Film Rights to this title.

September 29, 1957, March 11, 1958, July 6, 1961, September 10, 1972, April 26, 1986. What do these dates, and a dozen more, have in common?

They mark the days when serious nuclear disasters occurred. In some of those events, hundreds of people were killed, thousands more had their lives shortened due to radiation, and tens of thousands lost their homes when they were evacuated to save them from further harm.

Each of those accidents was the subject of intense worldwide news coverage. Each created a cause celebre and produced international tensions of unprecedented proportions.

Most people have forgotten the lessons of our atomic past. Many more were too young to understand what had happened.

The coming public debate over expanding our nuclear capabilities is going to be loud and long. The Afternoon America Was A-Bombed and Other True Disasters of Our Nuclear Age can play an important role in these discussions.

This is a book with strong appeal to those in both camps. The recounted incidents are true and are told with detail, drama, and fairness. They inform as well as entertain.
