PMA PLACES SHANE BERRYHILL'S
THE ADVENTURES OF CHANCE FORTUNE
WITH STARSCAPE/TOR

Peter Miller, President of PMA Literary & Film Management, Inc., and Julie Hahn proudly announce the sale of North American rights to The Adventures of Chance Fortune: Chance Fortune and The Outlaws and the second book in the series, The Adventures of Chance Fortune: Chance Fortune and The Morlocks by Shane Berryhill, to Kathleen Doherty and Susan Chang of Starscape/Tor in a nice deal.

The Adventures of Chance Fortune: Chance Fortune and The Outlaws is the first in a middle grade series about young Tennessee native Josh Blevins. In Josh's futuristic world, superhumans, aliens, and robots mingle freely and intergalactic travel has become a regular occurrence. Josh, through some dubious connections and little white lies, gains entrance into the esteemed Burlington Academy for the Superhuman. Since he does not actually have any superpowers, Josh does this under the falsified persona of Chance Fortune, his “superpower” being luck.

At Burlington Academy Josh meets a kaleidoscope of extraordinary characters—some friends, some enemies—and ultimately finds himself caught up in a struggle for the fate of the universe.

The Adventures of Chance Fortune: Chance Fortune and The Morlocks follows Chance and his crew of superhumans through their second semester at Burlington where they face more trouble including street gangs, continued battles with old enemies, and questioned alliances among themselves.

Shane Berryhill lives and works in Chattanooga, TN where he serves as a book critic for Pulse periodical. The Adventures of Chance Fortune: Chance Fortune and The Outlaws is his first novel.
