FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
OCTOBER 26, 2006
DR. PAUL DOBRANSKY'S AND L.A. STAMFORD'S
THE SECRET PSYCHOLOGY
OF FEMALE FRIENDSHIPS
SOLD TO PLUME Peter Miller, president of PMA Literary and Film Management, Incorporated, is pleased to announce the placement of the World English rights to Dr. Paul Dobransky and L.A. Stamford's, The Secret Psychology of Female Friendships to Ali Bothwell Mancini at Plume, a division of The Penguin Group. Plume intends to publish the book in hardcover 2008. A June 2006 scientific study shows that for most people, their circle of confidantes is on average about one person smaller now than it was 20 years ago. The percentage of people who say they have no one to confide in has now reached about 25%. This is alarming news for women, whose well-being is tied so intimately to belonging and connection to others. In fact, if this trend continues, it will lead to nothing less than a crisis in interpersonal relations. The Secret Psychology of Female Friendships will explain why this statistic is growing andmore importantlywhat women can do about it. It will offer simple and elegant skills and secrets on how women can expand, enrich, and troubleshoot any type of friendship they share now or seek in the future. Paul Dobransky, M.D. is a Board Certified Psychiatrist, former Associate Professor of Psychiatry at a major university, a national speaker, and a business consultant. He is the author of The Secret Psychology of How We Fall in Love (also written with L.A. Stamford), a revolutionary book on romantic relationships that Plume will publish in hardcover in June 2007. He has appeared on broadcast and cable television numerous times and in a wide variety of print publications, including Marie Claire, Maxim, First For Women, and USA Today.
