“Amazon Shorts,” Phelps said recently from his Connecticut office, “has allowed authors like me to publish lengthy articles and short e-books, if you will, in between major projects. I like it because it gives me the opportunity to connect with different readers and serve my core fan base with great true crimes stories that work in short form.”
“My first three run the gamut of genres, which is what I wanted to do,” Phelps said. “I wrote one narrative based on an interview I conducted with Dr. Henry Lee regarding the differences between real forensic science and television CSI; there's also a narrative non-fiction story of the worst coal mining disaster in American history; and, more in line with the books I write, a rather long narrative biography of Amy Archer-Gilligan, the nation's first female serial killer/Black Widow.”
